Award-winning pianist Natalia Pegarkova-Barenboim is a highly accomplished soloist and a keen chamber musician. Based in Berlin, Natalia regularly performs with well-known musicians such as violinists Pablo Martos, Michael Barenboim, and Tim Park.
Born in Moscow, Natalia graduated with distinction from the Gnessin State Music College in 2005 and moved to Germany to continue her studies at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre and at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany. Natalia won the 3rd prize at the Concorso Internazionale Citta di Minerbio 2003 (Italy) and the 1st prize at the Concorso Internazionale Valsesia Musica Juniors 2006 Premio Monterosa-Kawai (Italy). In 2008 Natalia was awarded the prestigious German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarship.
Natalia has performed in various chamber ensembles, such as the Junge Münchner Philharmonie, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie under the direction of George Benjamin, Kristjan Järvi and Erik Nielsen, and the Berlin Chamber Orchestra. Her international appearances include music festivals in Norway, Italy, Greece, Spain, Belgium, Hungary, and France. Natalia was a member of Hanseatisches Klaviertrio. In 2019 together with soprano Sofia Livotov she founded the Primevère song duo.
Natalia has a wealth of experience as a répétiteur and accompanist for various instruments as well as for singers. Alongside her performing career, she is a passionate music educator and is currently teaching music theory and piano at the Cosmopolitan School in Berlin, supported by the Daniel Barenboim Foundation. She is the author of a series of children books Wir gehen ins Konzert! introducing educational classical music events to the young audience.
